The Savior, the Sick, & the Golden One
Written and directed by Lex Lapp (she/her), The Savior, the Sick, & the Golden One is the story of three siblings, Saylor, Tad, & Reece over the course of one night in the dead of winter. The three embark on an adventure to provide Tad the care she needs to properly fight the debilitating cancer that is quickly overtaking her body. Asking questions surrounding separation of class and the undeniable love of family, Saylor, Tad, & Reece will learn just how hard it is to attain the “American Dream” when the system is built against you.
THAW
Written and directed by Alex Bush (they/them), Thaw follows unlikely friends Huck and Smith during one transformative winter. Tasked with tending to Smith’s family farm during the long off-season, the rambunctious tomboy Smith and the pensive and patient Huck slowly discover their true nature as they begin to switch genders. Thaw explores questions surrounding identity-formation, tradition, and codependence, culminating in a new American folk tale that explores the unruly relationship between body and soul.
